Green "Sludge" on Pensacola Beach - Is this related to the BP oil spill?
Last week I took some photos of the recent oil spill that washed up on the shores of Pensacola Beach, Florida. Most of which I photographed was of "tar balls", and pools of oil in various sizes.
One thing that caught my eye was the green "stuff" that kept washing ashore along with the foam from our injured Gulf waters.
"What did green stuff have to do with the oil spill?", I thought to myself"
It wasn't until a recent article showed up in the Pensacola News Journal (http://www.pnj.com/article/20100702/NEWS10/100702009), that started me pulling out those photos I took.
The article stated:
"On Thursday, a 9,500-pound metal hydraulics container was found leaking a green sludge, with heavy petroleum smell. It was identified by TransOcean as being part of Deepwater Horizon. It was turned over to TransOcean and BP personnel."
Suddenly, those photos made sense. I have submitted them for you to decide, as a LOT needs to be answered for in regards to what is happening here on the Gulf.
BP is not answering our questions. Our government has been rather mute on the issue of late.
We want to know what is in that water. We want to know if our children are going to be affected 10, 20+ years down the road from what has been disbursed and/or spilled in the Gulf of Mexico.
Besides the oil and disbursements being spilled.... what is the green "sludge"?
