    $1.7 million is awarded to Fox camera operator injured by LAPD

    Friday July 2nd, 2010. Fox's KTTV-TV Channel 11 News camera woman Patricia Ballaz was awarded $1.7 million by a Los Angeles County Superior Court jury after sustaining multiple injuries caused by the LAPD during the 2007 May Day Melee at MacArthur Park.

     

    After 2 days of deliberation, jury members also awarded $39,000 to KPPC radio reporter Patricia Nazario but could not come to an agreement on an award for third plaintiff, Fox reporter, Christina Gonzalez.

     

    Ballaz's Attorney, Browne Greene gave on camera comments after the trial.

     

    Footage and iReport were captured and compiled on the iPhone 4.
