Soufriere, Saint Lucia

Travel photo of the day
Anse Chastenet, St. Lucia
My husband and I got married and honeymooned in Soufriere, St. Lucia. It is a short (and very rugged) trip from the town center to Anse Chastenet beach. Anse Chastenet is a semi-private resort, most recently in entertainment news for having Amy Winehouse as a long-term guest. I say semi-private, because any tourist can park their vehicle and wander onto the beach and enjoy the oceanfront restaurant, but you are not permitted to sit under the lovely shade of the grass umbrellas. How do I know this? We were politely asked to remove ourselves from sitting there, despite the fact that we were some of the only people on the beach. I do highly recommend coming here and claiming a spot on the sand - the views of the Piton mountains and the superb offshore snorkeling is quite unparalleled in comparison to other beach sites we went to on the island. If you like what you see and are considering a trip to the area, consider staying at Crystals ( http://www.stluciacrystals.com ), for a well-priced, well-appointed, small resort with wonderful owners that pay attention to each and every detail. You will not be disappointed!
