All-time favorite games |
Stargate Defender and Asteroids
Up-down joystick, smart bomb, hyperspace, fire, inviso, thrust, and direction change buttons. Save the humans from being pulled to the top of the screen and morphed into alien bad guys whose only mission in life is to attack you with spastic firepower. The second incarnation of "Defender" offered more than any of the new high res, real life looking moronic drive around the city and shoot anyone that moves games out there.
Asteriods was awesome for a line art shooting game. Hit a big asteroid, it breaks into two smaller ones. Hit those, they break into smaller ones, etc. Fast moving alien ships randomly appear shooting at you, more accurately as the game goes on. Nobody dies, except you, if you're not good enough.
