My sighting.
Dear Mr. King, I have never shared this story publicly except for a few friends that have always thought it was unbelievable. Let me start by saying I always thought life on other worlds was possible but I became somewhat more convinced after the experience I would like to tell you about. Let me begin by saying that I grew up under the flight patterns of planes and jets at JFK in Inwood,Long Island. I know what jets look and sound like also because I am an aviation enthusiast myself. It was back in October of 1984 when I lived in Poughkeepsie NY alongside the Hudson river.I was driving in a Triumph TR-6 with my girfriend at the time during the meteor shower we were having for a few hours. As we drove down the side of the hill I could see what I thought was a 747 making it's landing approach. I joked to my girfriend that it was a UFO. Just then these 4 huge white lights lit up across the front. I was also thinking to myself how it was strange that a 747 would be making a final approach in an area where the only airport was Stewart and not nearly long enough a runway for that size aircraft. I knew right away this was unusual. I pulled to the side of route 9 when we got to the bottom of the hill and we were looking out the open windows of the car up to the sky. It was dusk and light enough to clearly see the outline of the craft. It was huge, about 5 or 10 times the size of any conventional craft. The only plane it was remotely similar to was the stealth bomber because it was a boomerang shape with no fuselage at all.There were some colored light underneath as well. It was so big and so high up, moving very slowly but with absolutely no sound at all-not even a whisper. I was mesmerized! We were sure it was forced into our atmopsphere because of the meteor shower or something. We continued along our trip south on route 9 and it was flying along side us in and out of the mountains and clouds.This sighting has been documented many times since then in newspapers and UFO magazine did a center page article on this exact sighting that was shared by many people in the area that night.Some people even drew pictures of exactly what we saw that night and posted them in newspapers the next day.
