If the Tea Party members want to be taken seriously, it must not only recognize, but deal with the racists in its organization. It is no longer acceptable to look at people in the Party who commit racist acts as being on the fringe of the Party. Both Republicans and Democrats have strongly condemned members of their party for committing racist, sexist, homophobic, or anti-Semitic acts. While I'm sure neither group believes the other doesn't do it enough, they at least make efforts to do so. The Tea Party has had countless successes in its short history, but if it wants to rise to real democrat & republican style prominence (or even surpass them), the Party must crack down on racists in its organization as opposed to just blaming Obama for racism against whites because they say he is taxing tanning salons. The Tea Party simply must grow up or it will grow old very quickly.
