This iReport is part of an assignment:
My City, My Life, Our World |
The Snake Vendor of Manila
They are of the water python variety, non-poisonous. They sell for 100 to 150 pesos each depending on the size.
This vendor hasn't sold anything, yet when I ran into him, but he supposedly sells about 10 snakes a day. Local folks buy them for their children as pets.
Selling wildlife creatures, especially on the streets of Manila does not bode well with the authorities and the wildlife conservationists. This vendor risks arrest.
