    Solar blast lights up skies

    Northern lights in Southern Norway

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Wiciwato captured some amazing shots of the northern lights early Wednesday. 'I couldn't believe my own eyes when I looked at the camera screen and saw it,' he said. 'When I realized I've actually witnessed the northern lights I just began to smile, because I had started to doubt that I would see it.' He added that the lights were most visible around 1:30 a.m. 'I actually started to cry a little. It was such a beautiful sight.'
    - katie, CNN iReport producer

I actually didn't expect to see any northern light when I traveled down to the lake, but after I saw the first picture on the camera screen I got shocked. I glimpsed some green light behind some trees. When i got around the trees I didn't actually see it with my naked eye, but after some minutes with photographing it struck me: It's the northern lights!

Around 01:30  norwegian time the light was incredible, so powerful and beautiful it could easily be seen without the camera.
