Cincinnati Street Pianos Inspire Music
Play Me, I'm Yours
Cincinnatians inspired by Luke Jerram's Street pianos are filling the air with music.
The artist's Play Me, I'm Yours artwork has inspired music in New York and cities across Europe and Australia. Now they're in Cincinnati, Ohio to celebrate the city's trio of Public Radio anniversaries:
88.5, WMUB - 60 years.
90.9, WGUC - 50 years
91.7, WVXU - 40 years
A Little Help From His Friend
Working locally with Artworks Cincinnati, Jerram painted donated pianos and placed them in parks, public areas and on sidewalks throughout the city. Most pianos bear the invitation "Play Me, I'm Yours."
Each Street Piano has a volunteer piano Buddy to watch over it. The pianos will be donated to local organizations at the end of the project.
