    Perseid Meteor Fireball

Headed just outside of Hemet near Anza and spent about two hours photographing the sky. Estimated about 40 meteors during that time, a dozen of which were amazing fireballs. The most amazing one of the night is also the only one I captured on camera, a brilliant purple fireball streaking past Jupiter. It left a long glowing smoke trail that lingered for minutes afterward. Certainly made a long drive and staying up late worth while.

Photo details: Canon SX20IS, 13 sec exp., ISO1600.
