48 Hour Film Project The Inland Empire World Premiers 2010
The biggest timed filmmaking competition in the world, the 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team make a movie—write, shoot, edit, score and get it in the can — in just 48 hours. Trust this IReporter...You will not sleep! The worldwide competition is now in it's 9th year, this reporter covered the "Inland Empire Edition" World Premiers on Aug 18 & 19 in my home town of Riverside, CA.
I envite CNN viewers to take a trip with me through this incredible journey, from the red carpet arrivals, the interviews with the stars and teams, and some short clips of some of the featured films, as well as the after party!
What really impressed me? The people! Everyone is so friendly, and the passion for filmmaking runs deep in the blood. And for Ireporters, this is a real treat: The community is almost identical to IReports: The budget for your film? "0"! That's right, it's all "freelance" with no pay - from the Director to the FX crews! All film locations are donated, you can buy your own equipment - but that is it!
Note: All photos, video, film clips, and interviews were shot with 100% full permission! The music is also donated by local artists or friends, and is 100 % royalty free.
The winning team for 8.18.10 was "Ned & Grant" by Red V Productions. Congrats also to the 8.19.10 winners: "Un-Duh-Feated" by Johnston Film Collective!
Thanks to Jeanettee DiPinza, and Alan Cook...The Inland Empire Group 48 Hour Film Project Producers!
The worldwide finals are in April of 2011 in Miami FL...
