iPhone - much ado about nothing
The buzz created around iPhone sold over a million devices between July 11 and 14 but was it worth it, especially for corporate users trying to replace the blackberry device?
For an average user, the device is "cool" but if you fall prey (like i did) to the Apple hype around iPhone being corporate ready, then you are in for a major disappointment.
Replacing a blackberry with an iPhone will take you back in time with simple features such as email search, cut and paste, calendar invites/updates among many other required features missing from the device. On top of the missing features, the software version 2.0 is sluggish and slow making it frustrating to use at times when scrolling, pressing buttons or inputting text.
Apple's push to release the device with bacis Exchange support is a definite win for RIM which will emerge as the clear and undisputed leader in the push email technology/devices once the dust of Apple hype around the iPhone 3G settles.
Verdict - iPhone not ready for corporate use. Blackberry still leads the way!!!!!!
