5th Anniversary of Katrina Lower Ninth Ward 8/29/2010
Here are some of my pictures from the Katrina Memorial in the Lower Ninth Ward today, 8/29/2010. Mitch Landrieu and Mary Landrieu spoke to name a few. Then, we marched onto the bridge to lay a memorial wreath. Laying the wreath this year (it is annual event) was quite chaotic on the bridge this year b/c there was so much press trying to get their pictures. Overall though, it was a nice memorial. The last photo is of a new Make It Right Home on Tennessee which runs alongside the levee wall break in the Lower Ninth.
Our job here in New Orleans is far from over. We have made HUGE strides, but there bigger strides ahead of us. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
