    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Metaoe67 is a paramedic on board an oil rig 14 miles from the platform that exploded. 'We were up here in the radio room and all of sudden we saw a whole bunch of smoke coming from the platform. Shortly after all radios started lighting up like a Christmas tree. They called any helicopters in the area, any boats in the area to respond. They were saying there were people in the water.'

    Smoke has subsided and helicopters are reporting all 13 men have been rescued from the water. as of 10:50 Local time.

    FYI Vermilion 380 in a production platform and not a drilling rig.
