This iReport is part of an assignment:
Fix our schools |
Why write?
Here in Chile I work with students in a translation and interpretation program.
We have been using iReports in the classroom as an educational tool. All my students have opened profiles so that they can comment on posts from different iReporters. This is helping them to practice their English writing skills and to see themselves reflected.
In the past students mainly composed essays for homework assignments, or in response to a question on an exam; with the use of iReports, students are getting used to producing more frequently and getting quicker feedback, resulting in a higher quality of production.
I am collaborating with another professor / iReporter, and we are in the process of teaching - step by step - how students can make effective use of this platform.
We are grateful for this opportunity and also hope that the international body of readers in iReports will learn something new about Chile.
In the coming weeks, we will be posting numerous iReports with the tag:
chile_young
Comments are welcome and encouraged.
We are calling the assignment:
“Chile from a young person’s perspective.”
