    More from alleebeth

    Sept 11th 2001 ...photos...

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     alleebeth took these photos five days after the World Trade Center twin towers fell. Hear her talk about them on CNN.

    Many were taken in Union Square, where people were holding round the clock vigils. She was most affected by the image (#4) of two police officers standing outside Bellevue Hospital looking at photos of the missing. 'I just found that very touching because I would never have expected police officers to actually stop and look at pictures. You would think they could find whatever they need, but not that day. They didn't know any more than we did,' she said.
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

    I have never shown these pictures before. They have intentionally been kept in a box in my closet. They are my personal reminder of that tragic day.

    I was here in NYC & watched the entire string of atrocious events unfold on tv.  It was impossible to believe that just south of me the Twin Towers were dying along w/ thousands of people ;{

    I will never forget the exact moment my tv went dead, "NO SIGNAL" was instantly on every station.  This was because the first plane hit the tower w/ the local tv antennaes on top of it.

    I have looked at MANY photos from that day.

    Now, I'm ready to share mine.
