    Deepwater Horizon/ Blowout Preventer headed to shore

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter sailormate had a great view of the blowout preventer from Deepwater Horizon as it headed up the Mississippi River on its way to NASA for analysis. She says it was interesting to see a “piece of history passing right in front of me.”

    This is the Blowout Preventer from the Deepwater Horizon being towed up the Mississippi River. Essentially, the piece that failed led to the spill in the Gulf. I thought it was worth taking a picture, a piece of history floating by while I am sitting here in the river.
