    9/11/10: Remembrance and Controversy

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     sjunat55 visited the WTC site this morning and found a mix of remembrance and controversy. His photographs show all sorts of angles 'from relatives displaying pictures of loved ones, firefighters carrying banners honoring their colleagues to anti- and pro-mosque signs and even some who believe in the conspiracy theory,' he said.
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

Relatives remembered their loves ones, police and firefighters honored lost colleagues- New York City marked the ninth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks with a ceremony held today.

Outside, near the site, close to the photos of relatives lost. the signs of controversy were also visible- from those opposing the proposed mosque near Ground Zero, to those favoring it and defending religious freedom, to those who believe in a conspiracy theory and ask for an investigation.

The rising tower of WTC1 displayed an American flag and a banner with the twin towers. (1)

Park Place, the street where the mosque would be located, remained cordoned off by the police. (9)

Remembrance and controversy came together near the site of the World Trade Center on 9/11/10.
