2008, 26/11 open war terror attack on Mumbai, my experiences

I was watching the TV news for full 3 days at home during the 26/11 terror attack in 2008 in  Mumbai.

Being in Mumbai I did not get the news as I had gone to sleep. My brother from Mangalore, some 16 hours journey from Mumbai had called me at 12.15 am after he saw the  TV news.. usually in villages they sleep right before 10.00 pm or 22 hours. But that suddenly he was bitten by a bug and got up suddenly at 11.30 pm or 23.30 hours and as he was not getting sleep he switched on the TV only to see major terror attack in Mumbai and he immediately called me up and for next three days I had not slept or gone to work as there was problem with transport as well.

After six months I had called up one friend (as I had lost his mobile) who was staying just opposite the Jewish House which was also one of the terror attack in 26/11. He shared me that they were not allowed to go out for 3 days and all their communication had got jammed and the he had terrific eye witness of real terror attack which only happens in Afghan or Kashmir ...but it was right in Mumbai which was something never expected though there have been instances of bomb blasts...the terror war was first time happened in India...

I was quite lucky that day because I was working in a media house as assistant editor ..usually I used get out of office by 21 hours or more and  stand at Mumbai CST railway station by sipping tea and eating some snacks and then board a train for one hour  journey. But  that day we had a meeting outside and I had boarded the train at 7.00 pm or 19 hours , the time the  Pak terrorists had planned to attack Mumbai but reportedly delayed due  to their mis time management and the had attacked only after 21 hours the  time usually I leave and stand at the attacked site.. and even the pathway of Cama Hospital  and  Metro Cinema where open war firing place between cops and terrorists and one lone surviving terror Kasab was in these areas....and the  Times of India Photographer Sebastian D'Souza.. shot pictures as terrorist Kasab kept on shooting..quite interesting.. because I know that photographer as I had met him 15 years ago ...
