Andorra- Europe, off the well-beaten path.

I'd like to tell you about the amazing, but little known country, that this Canadian is lucky enough to live in. It's called Andorra, and is located in the eastern Pyrenees mountains, bordered by the south of France and the north of Spain.  Andorra, the sixth smallest nation in Europe, has an area of just 468 Km2 (181 sq mi), and has a population of about 83,888. It is the only country in the world with Catalan as the official language. And its capital city, Andorra la Vella, is the highest in Europe, at 1023 metres.   I live in a village that is at 1500 metres high.  Andorrans don't pay taxes, and also happen to have one of the longest life spans in the world. The sheer stunning beauty of this dramatic landscape could be a factor. This little country is also known for it is top-notch skiing, shopping, and low crime rate.  Outstanding gastronomy and rich mountain culture round out this special European country. Andorra, and the Pyrenees mountains; one of Europe's best kept secrets. (Watch for more pictures, and videos to come!)
