    St. Kitts-Nevis Celebrates 27th Anniversary of Independence


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     charlesjong lives in St. Kitts-Nevis and was proud to share video from Monday’s parade celebrating 27 years of independence. 'I thought the world might be interested to see what was happening on our small island and some of the ceremonial things that are done to celebrate our independence day. St. Kitts was a British colony and became independent on September 19, 1983,' he said.

    September 19, 2010 -- The twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis celebrated its 27th anniversary of independence from Great Britain on Sunday. Prime Minister Douglas took part in an annual parade to commemorate the event. Prime Minister Douglas will be attending the General Assembly of the United Nations this week.
