The vehicle that some are calling "the future of the sports car" made a splashing debut on Broadway on Thursday,September 23, 2010.

The Honda CR-Z, the first hybrid car to offer a 6-speed manual transmission was the star of the show in Times Square during a promotional event that took over 3 city blocks.

Several models of the car were on display along a stretch of the pedestrian area on Broadway, and people were allowed to inspect the interior of the vehicle, and "test drive" the CR-Z via a virtual game.

In what was a Times Square first, 3-D technology was used to show a commercial for the car on one of the giant screens in the area.

This Broadway opening was witnessed by an estimated crowd of around 250.000.

The 2011 CR-Z made Broadway roar.
