Microburst Storm Cell Ravages Phoenix AZ
Today at approximately 8pm EST, a microburst storm cell came through central Arizona, causing a currently unknown amount of damage to the city of Phoenix and its many suburbs. The pictures here show my apartment complex in Glendale Arizona, and the aftermath of the cell. Hail that was at times nearly the size of baseballs shattered nearly 75% of the windows in my complex, including several of my own.
A tree was uprooted, and toppled onto the covered parking, trapping several cars beneath. After speaking to my neighbors, thankfully everyone was able to get away from the windows in time, and no injuries appear to have occurred. This is especially amazing considering we had absolutely no build up in the storm. It just started hitting us and didn't stop for nearly 15 minutes.
