    Rescue explained

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     captureit, a Canadian living in Madrid, wanted her daughter to understand why her parents were glued to the TV this morning. 'We explained how the miners were really, really far underground, and then we proceeded to explain to her what they were doing to get them up because there was an accident,' she said. 'I'm sure she can't imagine that people are working 600 meters underground, but it sort of explained our extreme interest in knowing what's happening.'

Her video ran on World Report 10/14/10.
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

To explain to my three-year old daughter what was happening with the miners in Chile, I quickly improvised... and came up with this visual explanation with some typical household items: a roll of paper towel, an empty toilet paper roll and a toy figurine. Prince Charming, I believe! I think she got it! We send all our love from Madrid, Spain to the miners and their families in Chile.
