Chilean Miner Rescue
- sjunca, CNN iReport producer
Hi,
I live on Pitcairn Island - one of the most remote countries in the world - no airports, no trains, no way to get off island except for a two day boat trip. Nearest land mass is either Tahiti in one direction or Chile in the other.
We only have two TV channels via sattelite connection - CNN and TCM.
We've been following the Chiliean miner rescue on CNN and have been blown away by this rescue.
It's touched our hearts and we've been pretty emotional as we've watched the miners come up and be reunited with their families. As a community of only 50 people we've rejoiced with the families of the 33 as they're slowly being brought up from the underground.
We send our support from our small island to their continued rescue attempt for the remaining miners.
