Stories from Second Life |
Burn2 SL's Burning Man
The Burning Man annual event is under way in Second Life. Based on the real life Burning Man Festival in Black Rock, Nevada, this year’s SL version is called Burn2 and covers 6 sims. Contributors have added an array of astonishing artworks and interactive theme camps. There are also live performers, dj’s and dances. I went for a wander today and was lucky enough to catch part of a dance show put on by Club Image. Simply called ‘It’s a dance show’ it was so much more than that! it was a light show too, with some marvellous effects performed live at their Burning Life outdoor theatre. I watched two dance acts performed by Hanku Babii and Setsuna Hirano, who both danced exquisitely as the colourful particle patterns around them changed constantly. It was a beautiful show and very well performed by Club Image.
There are many amazing sights at Burn2 and some of the exhibits built there are truly wondrous and a tribute to the imaginations of the people who have taken part. There are rangers at the arrival points and also people who will help you along the way! I met ranger Yman Juran when I first went over there a few days ago and she had a show of her own! Yman had a wonderful ‘fire’ costume and she danced inside a burning frame, she looked fantastic and she told me “The Universal spirit of loving living eternal burning energy greets YOU. Welcome to Burning Life...A place full of magic, mystic and magnificent people....enjoy your stay.........YOU are now ready to enter Burning Land of Life, Light. Love and Fire.”
Go and see this huge event, the Burning Man will actually go up in flames this weekend, so get over there while it’s still all going on!
