Even as Zombies Gather, Local Businesses are Jumping in to Defeat Them as They Takeover Norfolk VA

Paul and Heather Hartle are on their way to join  the rest of "Team Cybercriter" in the upscale Ghent section of Norfolk to defeat hundreds of zombies and taggees already gathered there. "Survive Norfolk" which takes place from 8:30-Midnight in the city tonight, has grown to be hugely popular from one simple Facebook entry.

ODU students quickly rushed to RSVP when the event was nonchalantly published on a Facebook page, and ODU Village and Virginia Beach businesses are also participating in the fun and outrageous fund raiser.

The Hartles are co-owners of the Village's Internet Lounge, Cybercriter on Monarch Way, in the heart of the village.  When it's owner and employees discovered the unique event on Facebook earlier this week, they had to scramble to get their RSVP in before the cutoff of about 1500 people. They decided to form a team to hopefully strategize to defeat the zombies chasing them for their coveted arm bands to win prizes in this history making event.

A portion of the nominal $5 fee to participate will be used for the city's requirement of licenses, insurance, and security, with the balance being donated to local charity.

Stay tuned and check out other ireports regarding this event which is rapidly promising to see more participants than anyone fathomed during it's organization, not to mention Norfolk's Mayor.
