    'The Change': Coping with menopause

    Menapause

I tried hormone replacement for one month and told my Dr. to keep it! I suffered through menapause for approx. 3 yrs and went through naturally. It was irritating at times when I would tear off my jacket and then, in five minutes, have to put it back on! I survived and so will others. It is a rite of passage and we were never meant to take shortcuts and there is no magic potion to this phase in a woman's life.

If need be, lock yourself in a bathroom until the irritation passes, drink a glass of wine or warm milk (whichever you prefer). Deal with the discomfort as it is what we must do; compared to childbirth and abdominal surgery, this was a breeze!
