This iReport is part of an assignment:
My volunteer vacation |
BoxerStock 2010 Music Festival
I've had the privilege of working with Atlanta Boxer Rescue and the BoxerStock performers since 2009.
Although I wasn't scheduled to perform myself at this year's event, I managed to drop by for a couple of hours to catch the great music, food, and of course get to play with the wonderful dogs brought out to the event by owners and volunteers.
I've tossed in some "Teaser" music video clips, slide shows of donations of all kinds of autographed celebrity items (See 2nd video slide show to see the cool stuff auctioned off) from Musicians, Comedians, sponsors, and public donors to help raise money this year.
Proceeds went to benefit Atlanta Boxer Rescue. Many talented musicians came by to perform; some were back from last year's BoxerStock (and the flooding rains in Sept. 2009 in Atlanta). Although overcast most of the day, It turned out to be great fall weather.
If you are a collector of autographed items and came for the auction, you know the great stuff that was available for sale. Collectors and public that didn't drop by, you can't imagine what you missed!
Comedienne Shelly Ryan was kind enough to emcee this year's event.
My personal thanks to everyone that volunteered, sponsored, and made donations to help Atlanta Boxer Rescue. Including the vendors that helped feed the public (very well) including Atlanta's own Varsity.
Thanks to the public that came by on a Sunday to join us. It started out a bit slow, but picked up during the day as people got out of church, had some lunch, then came by to join in for this family and pet friendly event.
For details on the full line up of performers and information on these events for Atlanta Boxer Rescue, visit them online at:
You can still make donations, pick up merchandise, learn about adopting a boxer, and find all kinds of information to help you with your dogs if needed.
Comedian, Wes Duncan
