Retro Game Room, Keeping it real with Nintendo

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     FxMercenary submitted these photos of his game room. 'The majority of the items are from my childhood, however I did not save absolutely everything I had so some of the items have been found after the fact through old childhood friends, neighbors etcetera,' said FxMercenary.

I was born in 81 and grew up with Ninteno, I read Nintendo Power, and I loved every second of my 8-bit childhood.  A couple years ago I got married, and discovered that my wife had the same experiences with Nintendo as a child!   Well, come to find out, we both kept our games from childhood, I kept my Nintendo Powers and other console games as well.  We decided that with all of the extra space in our house, that we would dedicate a Retro Room to the fun we grew up with!

Theres nothing more entertaining and nostalgic than cracking the sliding glass door open on a cool night and popping in Mario 3 or Ghosts and Goblins, maybe even Jackal for some co-op jeep action!

I will admit, the games are old, but after spending countless hours opening up each and every cartridge, and restoring the old pins with game cart cleaner, and replacing the 72-pin connectors in my Nintendo(s) every game plays on the first try, just like they did when they were new!

From Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound and Secret of Mana, to the simpler games like Mario and Contra, heres to another 25 years Nintendo!

    Heres to 25 more years!
