This iReport is part of an assignment:
Do your kids have a cell phone? |
Connected phones for disconnected cells
I provided cell phones for both my daughters when they were teenagers because they are both insulin dependent Type 1 diabetics. The cell phones enabled them to have a social life while still keeping them in communication with mom and dad so we could remind them to check on their blood sugars. The cell phones also allowed them to call us for help in any situation, no questions asked. So for me, the cell phones were valuable life lines and communication tools that allowed my girls to live something akin to a normal life while managing their diabetes.
