Sanity Rally: Kids with a message but could not hear or be heard
We brought our 7 year old and 2 year old to the rally this afternoon. Boy, was it a mess! No organization, no security, no jumbotrons (where we were), no sound system. The only thing we managed to hear (we think) was Ozzy O's scream. Anyway, my 7 year old made her own message, and she is holding it in the picture. "all our war money could fund schools and things for the people in need!" and she has her halloween unicef box under it. She collected almost ten dollars for unicef today!
Mostly people were in a good mood, and a few people actually had a well-considered political message.
Our family is part of "military families speak out" (www.mfso.org) which opposes the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, wants the troops to come home and be taken care of when they get home.
Jon S, we love you, but you don't put on a good rally. Will you try again?
Sincerely,
Lisa C,
Maryland resident
p.s the first picture was taken in the very crowded (and dark) metro at about 11:45 am. the second picture was taken on the mall, near the carosel.
