    Burmese-In-Exile Burn The Junta's Flag & 2008 Constitution

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Tokyo photographer and writer ElBranden captured images of Myanmar refugees protesting the Myanmar election on Sunday outside the Myanmar embassy. It was the Myanmar's first election in 20 years, but critics said it was sure to favor the country's military regime (the junta).

    'Burmese gathered to make it very clear that they will never accept the junta," ElBranden said. 'Usually, these demonstrations are held peacefully, with the Japanese police being very accommodating. However, due to the intense frustration and anger that the Burmese felt about the sham election, the scene outside the embassy flared up, when many protesters burned the junta's new flag, as well as a copy of the 2008 constitution.'

    On the day of the sham election in Burma, many hundreds of Burmese refugees in Tokyo, gathered outside the Myanmar Embassy to protest against the regime.

     

    Their anger was vented when many Burmese burnt the new Myanmar flag and 2008 constitution in protest.
