It's not Thanksgiving without... |
My Mom's Gravy
It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without my mom's delicious turkey gravy. I called her up and she says the recipe is guess by God. In her words,
"I take the broth from the turkey.I put it in a skillet on top of a stove. The most important thing is for it not to be lumpy. So I mix a little bit of flour or cornstarch in a glass jar with cold water. I shake the jar to get rid of the lumps. I gradually add it to the broth until it thickens."
That's my moms delicious Thanksgiving Gravy. My mom is 88 years old so every Thanksgiving she is with us is a reason to celebrate. We still go over to her home to celebrate because she loves to have us. Her dressing with homemade cornbread is great too but thats another story.
