Celebration of Pain and Pride (Unveiling the Pacman statue)
Today the 10ft bronze image of Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao together with the 8ft bronze statue of a nurse, carpenter, teacher and farmer all dedicated to hardworking Filipinos was unveiled in bay area of SM Mall Of Asia.
The art installation is dedicated to hardworking Filipinos all over the world - men and women who take pride in their body pain, wearing it as a badge of honor and embracing it as a proof of their passion and commitment to their families and chosen profession.
At the center of the art piece is Pacman, the icon and living example of a Filipino to "no pain, no gain."
I can say that this is the version of Thanksgiving in the Philippines.
The images are sculpted by award-winning Filipino artist Fred Baldemor, and the event is commissioned by Alaxan FR together with SM Mall of Asia and SM Cares' Global Pinoy Program.
After the unveiling, there's a free concert featuring Philippines' top artists.
