    Thank God we built a new bridge

    This is a view from the 141 bridge in Valley Park, Mo over the Meramec river at about 2 o'clock today. The river was at about 22 ft above flood stage and it is expected to crest at 40ft Sat.

    The photo was taken from the "new" bridge. The old hwy bridge was a twin of this one.  When we were kids, the adult driver always required us to hold our breath if we were in a van and passing a semi!
