Christmas Lights in Round Rock, Texas
- jsarverCNN, CNN iReport producer
"Wizards of Winter" is a must have song for any serious Christmas light display.
Christmas lights have decorated our Round Rock home for years, but this is our first year setting the Christmas lights to music, controlled by a computer, and broadcasted on a low-powered FM transmitter. Families in their cars are instructed by a sign in the front yard to tune their car radios to 106.9 FM where they can hear the lights dance with the music without disturbing our neighbors or having to get out into the cold.
This year we have 14,260 energy saving LED lights on the house that use so little power that they can all be run from the same outlet. Getting power to all the lights is another thing and that requires 1/3 of a mile of extension cords in the front yard.
We also have 17 dancing trees, 7 deer, 3 inflatibles, and since we're in Texas a Christmas cactus as well.
Merry Christmas
