Cars Abandoned In Snow In North East England

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     DavidFullard says, 'I usually live in Australia and I'm loving the snowfall, it is up to knee deep outside in places and the temperature is minus 7 degrees celsius to minus 20 degrees celsius. It's 2 degrees warmer in the freezer.'
    - sjunca, CNN iReport producer

These cars have been stranded for days, stuck in snow in County Durham, England.  The snow began falling last Wednesday and has not let up since.

The snow is between 1 foot and knee deep, let alone Scotland with 13 foot snow drifts.

The temparature is expected to drop to anywhere around minus 20 tonight, with more snowfalls forecast.

Today and Wednesday a blizzard is expected for the North East of England.

Thousands of schools and workplaces around England have come to a standstill because of the wintery weather.  And theres more to come in the following week.
