Warning! Nature is Waiting
Dolomites, Italy - If you find yourself hiking in the mountains you can find yourself in trouble real quick. The mountains are a great place to spend time immersed in nature’s beauty but that beauty can turn beast. While out exploring the Dolomites yesterday if nearly walked into a huge ant hill, an experience I was more than happy did not happen. This mound was huge, as were the inhabitants! Not an expert on insects, I had no way to tell if these guy’s bite could be as bad as they looked, except to put them to the test. Certainly they would not have welcomed such a large visitor to their palace. And they were working full time collecting the forest for their winter freeze. I snapped a peak with snow still present at about 2000-2500M. This was at 1700M.
Earlier in the day I did meet with some 6 legged critters who had a rather annoying bit.
