    Show us your commute

    90 minute 18 mile commute

I live in one of Boston's most beautiful communities of the North Shore - Marblehead.  Since May, I have begun taking a MBTA bus to the "Blue Line" located 10 miles away in Revere.  From there, I take the "T" (the Subway, for all you non-New Englanders) for about 20 minutes until I arrive to downtown Boston, where an additional 10 minute walk brings me to the lobby of my building.

Door to door is about 80 - 90 minutes, depending on traffic and the time of year.  I am trying to do my part to A. trim down our family's budget and B. contribute to the destruction of gasoline demand in the US in hopes that oil prices continue to decline.  My fear is that if oil prices continue to tumble and gas prices follow suit, then folks like me will desert their new public transit commutes and oil prices will resume their mighty trek skyward.
