    Snowflake Detail

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     kbcook28 and her husband snapped incredibly intricate images of snowflakes resting on their car's windshield on Tuesday morning. Her husband saw the still-intact flakes on the windshield and kbcook28 set up her Nikon D60 with an old mechanical Nikkor 60mm macro lens to capture these images.
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

Yesterday, my husband came in, exclaiming about the snowflakes that still clung to his car's windshield.  Excitedly, he grabbed the camera.  He spent the next half-hour shooting snowflakes, running back inside to thaw his trigger finger, and running back out to shoot some more.  As we reviewed the photos together back inside, our son proclaimed with astonishment, "I didn't know they really look like that!"

We are due to get more of this over the next few hours.
