    Compared: Snow vs. summer tires

    We all know that all-wheel-drive is better in the snow, but about the type of tire. Just how important are are snow tires in snowy and slick conditions?

     

    We recently found out by comparing two AWD drives cars in the snowy Rocky Mountains.

     

    One car has snow tires while the other one has summer tires.

     

    Can you guess what happens when we pit the 2011 all-wheel-drive Mercedes R350 against the 2011 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT in the snow? Watch the video and find out.
