Wintry Weather @ Apolo Beach, Florida 12/16/2010

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     captaind2u says he has seen about three times as many manatees as usual in the Apollo Beach area due to cold weather; he normally sees 50 to 100 manatees, and how he's seeing what he estimates to be 300 of the 'sea cows.' The water there is warmer because of the power plant water discharged nearby, creating a safe harbor for the creatures. He says the area is set up for manatee viewing and even has a gift shop.
    - nsaidi, CNN iReport producer

Manatee in the warm waters of the Apollo Beach power plant. The warm water discharge attract manatee as a safe harbor. There are sum 300 'Sea Cows' in this area today as I file and snapshot these pictures to share. The wind is out of the South-South West @ ?10? mph. Bright sunny day with NO clouds. The warm weather is invitting, the beaches are beautyful, lots to do and plenty to eat and drink. Come see it for yourself..GO Tampa Bay Bucs..
