White Christmas in Southwest Virginia
We woke up to a White Christmas here in Roanoke! There was already at easily an inch on the ground when the kids opened their presents, and when we left to visit Grandma across town in Botetourt County around 5pm, there was 3 inches, with more falling!
We stayed in Botetourt overnight, at Grandma's, and the kids had some fun doing some Christmas sledding! There was a total of about 4 inches there in Botetourt. It was a very wet snow, but apparently perfect for the sleds, as the wind began to pick up.
We are now back home, in Southwest Roanoke County, with 5-6 inches total on the ground, and wind gusts up to 60mph. Temps have dropped in the low 20s, before wind chills.
Our end of Virginia got lucky with this storm, especially after last year. It was a beautiful Christmas!
