    USO Christmas Convoy 2010: Afghanistan

The USO, through the support of the 43rd Sustainment Brigade stationed on Kandahar Air Base, Afghanistan, were able to bring Christmas out to Combat Outposts to soldiers stationed at the 'tip of the spear'. Four days of dedicated convoys were set aside to reach out to those who don't have access to the things we take for granted in the US. Individual gifts included stocking caps filled with phone cards to call home, letters written by school children, and other assorted necessities. On a unit level, a new PS3, games and television or projector is sure to make those long nights pass by more quickly. The mission was a success and holiday cheer found its way even through the sandy landscape of the Kandahar province.
