Feel the Earthquake in Beverly Hills?
The usually calm, peaceful and glamorous world of Beverly Hills, California was all shaken up mid-day Tuesday as the earthquake measuring 5.4 in magnitude rocked the world of many business people, shoppers and even celebrities. Friends with whom I spoke said it felt like being on a ride where the "floor drops out" and "you lose your barring's" for a terrifyingly unknown amount of time. Chairs fell over, pieces fell off shelves, homes "shook", and even TV's seemed to bounce. Although mild in comparison to most earthquakes of note, this "shake-up" terrified millions as a reminder of what could have been if it were a little worse. Based on the lack of injuries and little damage, it appears that the state of California has done a great job of preparing for this type of occurence.
