Flooding in Brisbane - Major Motorway, Railway, Streets and Houses Flooded

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     LynMark says people are using boats and canoes to cross flooded roads, 'houses are flooded in low lying areas, and parks have been turned into lakes.'
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

These images were taken at Gailes, 20 km south-west of Brisbane, Australia at around 2.30 pm local time.

They first 5 images show the Ipswich Motorway and Ipswich Line railway, both key transport links from Brisbane to the west, closed by flooding.

Plenty of locals and visitors were making the most of it by walking along the roads closed to traffic. The good weather, nice scenery and generally relaxed people are in contrast to the damage the flooding is causing to infrastucture and peoples property.

The last 4 images were taken of Newman Street in Giles. People are using boats and canoes to cross flooded areas. Houses are flooded in low lying areas, and parks have been turned into lakes.
