    Tucson Tribute Video "Imagine" Hits Over One Million Youtube Views In Two Days


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     roadrunnerk is the publicist for the Boston music group AHMIR. She says the band members have each seen first-hand 'how gun violence can destroy people's lives and families to pieces.'

    When the senseless shootings occurred in Tucson, Arizona, on January 8, 2011, members of the R&B group Ahmir from Boston immediately wanted to do somethingto help. For each of the members during their life have experienced the horror that a bullet delivers without warning.


    Big Mike, Sing Sing, KC, and Mr, Jones of Ahmir decided they wanted to record a song that would bring hope. In addition, they wanted to send a strong message to the youth that guns and violence are not the answer.


    They reached to a singer, Sam Tsui, and a director, filmmaker Kurt Schneider, to collaborate with for the video.Together they chose to record "Imagine" written many years ago by John Lennon.


    When asked why they chose this song Mr. Jones of Ahmir said, "It was a terrible tragedy and our prayers are with the families, victims, and Congresswoman Giffords. We felt this song embodies the hope that we can be a better country and grow stronger from this horrific act of violence.".


    The Tucson tribute video Imagine was posted a few days ago on YouTube and quickly hit One million views. The video encourages the viewer to donate to the Gabe Zimmerman fund and for the Christina Taylor Green foundation. Gabe Zimmerman was an aide to Congresswoman Giffords. Christina Taylor Green was the youngest victim only 9 years old.
