This iReport is part of an assignment:
The new face of 50 |
Dad always said, "Don't sweat the small stuff".
Notes on turning 50:
We threw a catered party to mark the accomplishment. Family and friends helped celebrate the half century I managed to survive.
The older I get, the more Dad was right, there really is a lot of small stuff.
I have to exercise to compensate for my slowing metabolism.
My reading glasses are never far away.
By far, the most rewarding part of my journey has been raising my daughter (now 10).
I am reminded of a line by Jimmy Buffett, "...growing older, but not up...".
Family and friends make the world go 'round.
Work is a necessary evil to afford more time with family and friends.
