Books - Heck Yah!
I find it ironic that this is supposed to be a video. Why not make people read about what they should be reading?
That being said, here is my list of recommended books. Enjoy!
1) Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer - this is young adult fiction at its best. I dare you to pick this up and try to put it down. If you like vampires, romance and smooth language, then this is the series for you!
2) American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis - this book is not for the faint of heart. Its horribly violent and disturbing but its also satire at its best. Its a definitive skewering of the 80's greed culture that resonantes today. Does anyone really listen to each other? "This is not an exit."
3) Atonement by Ian McEwan - this may not be the easiest, fastest read but if you enjoy internal struggle then this is a great page turner. Its sad sure but its an amazing achievement in writing. The characters are fully realized people who spend hours agonizing over their thoughts and trust me, you feel their pain intensly.
4) Harry Potter series by JK Rowling - this entire series is fun, exciting and a great read. If you havent already and even if you have then pick these up and get completely submerged in a world of magic and mayhem.
5) The Golden Compass series by Phillip Pullman - these are kids novels (again) but at the same time the themes presented here are beyond a small childs brain capacity. They are fascinating and delve deeply into a the ideas of original sin and love.
So theres a few to start with, nothing too tricky to find, nothing old and nothing stodgy. Just some good, interesting reads that I hope someone can enjoy!
